The Fire Safe Council of Nevada County has issued a challenge to the community to educate the public, nursery retailers and landscaping contractors about the hazards of planting scotch broom varieties. Scotch broom varieties are highly flammable, noxious, invasive weeds that create a fire hazard when used as ornamental landscaping.
